START THE NEW YEAR OFF RIGHT WITH GUIDANCE FROM LOCAL FOOD & NUTRITION EXPERT, WHITNEY GEORGE.
Dundore & Heister nourishing broths are a wonderful addition to your diet as many of us ‘turn over a new leaf’ and look for ways to improve our health and wellness in the New Year.
We checked in with our friend Whitney George, Functional Nutritionist, MS, CNS-C, AFPA Certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant, at @ampersandwellness and asked her to share her thoughts about bone broth and how to integrate this nourishing liquid into your daily routine.

“One quarter of the protein in the human body is collagen. 1
Bone broth is rich in collagen and gelatin, which contain amino acids that support immune health, bone, skin, joint, gastrointestinal, and hair health.
Bone broth contains the amino acid arginine, which can support immune function.1
Chicken broth has also been shown to increase white blood cells, which help immune function.
I love bone broth and those of you who know me or have worked with me as your Nutritionist, know that I incorporate it as a strong healing piece of my digestive protocols. I love sipping on a hot and savory mug of Dundore & Heister’s Revive bone broth to support my gut health, my immune health, and my sense of well being. It’s like a warm hug!
Some of my clients don’t like the idea of pouring a hot mug of broth and sipping on it, however, so we utilize it in many applications and recipes.
You can combine bone broth, like Dundore & Heister’s Revive-which contains ginger and lemon grass- as a soup base for any soup that calls for broth, in a stir-fry or even as the broth addition to this variation of Golden Milk, called’Golden Broth Blend.’1”
1 cup • coconut milk or other non-dairy milk
1 tsp • coconut oil
2 tbsp • coconut cream (can buy in a can or skim off the top of a refrigerated full fat coconut milk)
1/2 tsp • turmeric powder
1/2 tsp • ginger powder
1/8-1/4 tsp • black pepper
3 drops • liquid stevia or monk fruit (if needed for sweetness)

This recipe is found in my mentor and clinical supervisor, Dr. Kara Fitzgerald’s Better Broths & Healing Tonics book that I contributed to during my clinical residency.
