St. Patrick’sGuinness Beef Stew
This classic trio of beef, potatoes and veggies is simmered low and slow with a richly seasoned Guinness stout broth until every bite is melt-in-your-mouth tender. We start by rendering D&H smoky bacon. Next, we sear the beef to increase the intensity and create a fond to start building the nourishing sauce. We then add the aromatics and caramelize the vegetables to deepen the flavors. Guinness is added and introduces malts and tannins to soften the richness. Potatoes are the final addition to make the sauce that velvety smooth texture that we dream of.
